A Blog Looks At Forty

Well, today this blog hits the big 40 (40 entries).  I want to offer my heartfelt thanks to all those who’ve encouraged, promoted, heckled, badgered, battered, belittled, and bemoaned this blog.  But most of all, I’d like to thank those who’ve cared enough about this topic to comment.

It’s cliché to say you never imagined yourself a blogger.. But in my case, until I started this blog I actively derided those that fancied their lives worth this level of navel-gazing.

But after nearly a year, I can report that blogging can be more than just navel-gazing.  The value (if there is any) to this enterprise lies in the comments submitted by readers.  It is in this feedback that I’ve learned the most about Ireland, Dublin, and living abroad.  And, most importantly, I’ve learned to respect the community of my readers.

Hi, Glenn: We have enjoyed observing your transition to living as the Irish do. Although we’ve never had to make the adjustments you have, I can see that, even if I were younger, it would be very difficult. We are creatures of habit and comfort zones and I like mine. Keep up the good work and continue to grow. Fondly, The Lindseys
